The environment to edit and enter these posts is not as easy as I initially thought. The copy and paste took everything with it from the sites I used. Hopefully over time I will get better at this.
17Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
If my math is right that is 42 generations. I'm having a hard time determining my Fathers' Father. It is amazing that such detail was kept in a time of few learned men who could write or scribe. Does it speak of the importance of the Messiah, that his ancestory was traced through time? I guess some could argue that it was all made up. Is there proof of these people? Do we really need to know this as a fact? What other things do we except as fairly rational people that perhaps don't have a concrete proof. The existence of dinasours is proven by their remains and other artifacts. I don't even imaging to contest their existence despite no written record of them. It's a slippery slope when we begin to require proof for every fact. Through reasoning and sound unemotional thought I think we can accept some ideas.
